From 27 November 2017:

The Toulouse Metropolitan area has an emergency low emission zone scheme during high pollution events. It is not decided yet what the measure will look like. But most likely some vehicles will be banned after a certain amount of days with smog alarm. The Crit'Air sticker is necessary to be allowed to circulate during smog alarm.

There are stickers called "air quality certificates" (Certificats qualité de I’air) which are mandatory for French and foreign vehicles.

For vehicles registered in France, the French LEZ stickers can be bought here.

Stickers for foreign vehicles can be bought in English, French, German or Spanish. These stickers can be bought by those outside France. Please allow enough time for delivery.

Yes. There is a national law, based on the classifications of vehicles shown in the table below.

Low emission zone stickers are mandatory for French vehicles and cost 3,70€ plus an additional cost for postage (0,48€). For vehicles registered in France, the French LEZ stickers can be bought here.

The exemptions for the LEZ apply to vehicles:

• of public interest as defined by law R. 311-1
• of the armed forces
• of civil security
• of driving schools
• of removal companies
• of authorized market suppliers
• transporting frozen goods and fuelling vehicle
• specialized vehicles not used for the carriage of goods as defined in Annex 5 of the decree of February 9, 2009, except motor homes
• such as authorized exceptional convoys
• vehicles that have collectible marked on their registration
  
• that are over 30 years of age, used as part of a commercial activity for tourism with a sticker of authorisation behind the windshild
• vehicules with a parking card for people with disabilities
