It is not only in the UK that air pollution is linked to early deaths, but the whole of Europe.

The European Environment Agency's 2015 Air Quality in Europe report estimates that 432,000 people die early in Europe due to outdoor fine particulate air pollution (PM2.5). The table below, taken from the report, outlines the premature deaths by country. These figures agree with the more recent UK report.
