From Thursday the 26th January the Grenoble bans vehicles registered before 1997. Vehicles need to have at least the French LEZ (Crit'air) sticker 3.
This means that vehicles without low emission zone stickers, as well as Stickers 4 and 5 are banned.
Public transport is free. Stricter speed limits are also in place.
The restriction was in place until midnight Monday the 30th January.
Saturday 21st January was the 1st day of the Grenoble emergency air quality traffic scheme.
