In the summer, July to mid September, there are though traffic bans on secondary roads in Tirol. This is to stop holiday traffic diverting from the motorway at times of traffic jams, and causing new traffic jams in the areas surrounding the motorway.

There are exemptions for residents, and those with local destinations
