From July until the end of 2022, a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) will be tested in Rennes.
In the streets concerned, passage will be reserved for residents, deliveries and emergency services. Objective: calm traffic and give priority to pedestrians and cyclists. This is one of the results of consultations on the city center with residents and professionals.
Who can drive in the ZTL:
- the speed remains limited to 20 km/h, (as since June 2020)
- priority is given to pedestrians and bicycles
- not everyone can enter it.
Are authorized groups of vehicles with proof: local residents, traders, craftsmen, delivery people, medical and personal assistance personnel, hotel customers, patients who have a medical appointment in the area, people who have to transport a heavy loads, those accompanying residents who are unable to drive, people with reduced mobility, and of course emergency services and service vehicles.
