More French cities tighten their low emission zones January 2023

Nice, Reims and Toulouse will have stricter standards for entering their LEZs.

Why does France fight against air pollution?
Air pollution is the second cause of death in France (after tobacco and before alcohol).
It accounts for nearly 10% of mortality in France. This pollution has a strong impact in the short and long term not only on our health but also on our environment. In humans, it causes allergies and respiratory problems, increased cardiovascular risk, reproductive disorders, mutagenic effects, kidney and liver function disorders. More generally, it disrupts the balance of fauna and flora, contaminates soils and crops and degrades soils and buildings.

Nice, Reims and Toulouse require a Crit'Air sticker 3 to be able to enter the city.
If you want to know to which Euro standards that translates for the different vehicle types see our webpages for more information: Nice, Reims and Toulouse.
