More low emission zones in Spain

Alcobendas and Badalona have started their LEZs beginning of 2023.

On January 1, 2023, Alcobendas and Badalona have implemented a Low Emission Zone (ZBE) to promote environmental sustainability, pedestrian mobility and achieve a friendlier city for citizens. Alcobendas will thus comply with the Climate Change Law, promoted by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. The law provides that municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants must establish low emission zones before 2023. ZBEs contribute to improving the health of citizens and mitigate climate change and noise pollution.
