From 1 January 2019, a traffic ban will apply in Stuttgart for all vehicles with diesel engines of the Euro 4 / IV emissions standard and worse.

The traffic ban applies all year round in the environmental zone of the city of Stuttgart (entire city area with the 23 city districts). Diesel vehicles from the Euro 5 / V emission standard onwards are currently still exempt from this ban.

 It is also being called a 'diesel ban', traffic ban, Dieselfahrverbot.

There will be a transition period for residents until 31 March 2019.
