Madrid has three LEZ schemes in place.

There is the low emission zone called ZBE that has been in place since January 2022. This covers the city inside the ring road M-30. This scheme only affects cars. It is gradually extended over the coming years. Find more information here.

The other two schemes are low emission zones of special protection.
One has the same spatial extension as the former Madrid Central scheme. This new scheme is called ZBEDEP Distrito Centro. In place since 22 September 2021.
The other scheme is the low emission zone ZBEDEP Plaza Elíptica and has been in place since 22 December 2021.
