    Introduction

A sticker called 'Crit'Air' is mandatory for all vehicles if they want to enter a French 'emergency low emission zone' (ZPA) (in cases of high pollution events) or a French 'low emission zone' (ZRC).

So far there are:


A ZCR (Zone à circulation restreinte = low emission zone) is expected for Lille the earliest possible in autumn 2017.

There are stickers called "air quality certificates" (Certificats qualité de I’air) which are mandatory for French and foreign vehicles.

For vehicles registered in France, the French LEZ stickers can be bought here.

Stickers for foreign vehicles can be bought in English, French, German or Spanish. These stickers can be bought by those outside France. Please allow enough time for delivery.
Please note: Buying stickers from some websites can cost up to 5 times the price, so check carefully, and use official sales websites.

Foreign vehicles are also affected and need to display an emission sticker from 1 April 2017 on.

If you drive with a vehicle that does not meet the required standard these fines apply:
cars: 68€, if not paid in 45 days it increases to 180€
HGV and buses 135€, if not paid in 45 days it increases to 375€!

 

Yes. There is a national law, based on the classifications of vehicles shown in the table below.

Low emission zone stickers are mandatory for French vehicles and cost 3,70€ plus an additional cost for postage (0,48€). For vehicles registered in France, the French LEZ stickers can be bought here.
