The Access Regulation (ZTL) of Forio covers part of the historic center.

During certain times no vehicles are allowed to enter the ZTL.
No access for vehicles >3.5 tonnes in Via G. Mazzaella to Nettuno crossing.

The ZTL is active in the following streets:

- Via Erasmo e Filippo Di Lustro
- Via Baiola to tratto Bivio Rione Umberto I

All vehicles except motorcycles; no access at all for vehicles with >3.5 tonnes.

In the period of 01.07. - 31.08.2017 (and presumably the following years) the ZTL in Corso F.Co Regine is active daily from 10:00 - 13:00 and 17:00 - 02:00.

No access for vehicles >3.5 tonnes in Via G. Mazzaella to Nettuno crossing daily from 00:00 - 24:00. The ZTL in Piazza Med. D’Oro and Via Erasmo e Filippo Di Lustro is active Monday to Friday from 10:00 - 02:00.


There is currently no Italian national scheme, but regional as well as individual city schemes.
However, there is a mobile phone app that can tell you when you are about to drive into a camera enforced ZTL.

National exemptions for all ZTL:
Categories stated by law: public transport, vehicles for disabled people with a registered disabled persons badge.

Specific exemptions:
Resident’s vehicles, private car park owners, public utilities, hotel guests, vehicles owned by shops or companies inside the ZTL, delivery goods, car sharing, home care, visiting doctors, night-time surveillance, artisans, funeral company, voluntary organizations.

Local exemptions:

Tourists who have their hotel in the ZTL are advised to talk to the hotel about the ZTL, to avoid fines.

Special exemptions may be granted, if there is an important need to enter the ZTL when it is in operation. For example loading / unloading, couriers, commercial activities etc. Talk to the local police about it, contact details below.

Loading and unloading is allowed at all times.
